Our kindergarten program is based on Christian values and offers a safe learning environment, while nurturing the whole child spiritually, socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically. Each child’s strengths are celebrated and developed providing them with the confidence, opportunity and tools to achieve their maximum potential.

  • Communication is considered as being of paramount importance. Home and school collaborate together closely.
  • Christian principles are interwoven throughout daily routines.
  • The kindergarten classroom accommodates the unique learning abilities of each child. This is accomplished though varied lessons and teaching methods.
  • Our learning environment combines play-based learning and academic studies.
  • We consider positive early learning experiences with school as important for young children in their development.
  • Children are encouraged to show compassion and respect within their classroom and in their community.
  • Parents can be comforted in knowing that their child is appreciated for who they are as individuals.

Relative to other community kindergarten programs, CCA offers small class sizes comprised of no more than 18 students.  Smaller class sizes allow for fewer interruptions, hence more learning. Our teachers follow, meet and aim to exceed the Ontario curriculum. The children are also exposed to many other enriching experiences through field trips, guest speakers, baking, computers, French, music and art.

CCA offers an optional 5-day program (“Extended”) for students enrolled in Junior and Senior Kindergarten. The extra days are also taught by our Kindergarten teacher. Although new concepts will not be learned during these days, it will be an opportunity to review what is being taught on the alternate day.  The emphasis on these days will be self esteem and decision-making capabilities, social and emotional development, listening skills, gross and fine motor skills, computers and many other engaging activities.  Your child will remain with their familiar teacher and classroom but enjoy a different schedule.  Families are encouraged to register quickly as space is limited.
